The Neptune Fountain in Gdansk

All Gdansk tours stop by the The Neptune Fountain since it is one of the most recognizable symbols of Gdansk and it is located in the heart of the city– in front of the beautifully decorated Artus Court.  Every summer many tourists take pictures in front of the Roman God’s sculpture. The first fountain was created in the 16th century but current one is 100  years older. During WW2 the Neptune Fountain shared the fate of many masterpieces in Gdansk, was disassembled and hidden. It returned to the Long Market in 1954.

There is a legend associated with this sculpture and a famous liqueur of Gdansk– Goldwasser. I will tell you on the tour.

The sight is on the tour:  The Gdansk city tour and Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia in one day
