Lech Walesa (in Polish spelling Lech Wałęsa)
He is a legendary leader of the Solidarity Trade Union in Poland. He was born in 1943 and currently lives in Gdansk. In 1983 he won the Nobel Peace Prize. He was a democratically elected President of Poland and served from 1990 till 1995. He was succeeded by post- communist Aleksander Kwaśniewski. His office is located in the European Solidarity Center.
